According to Taghrib News Agency, Egypt's Al-Azhar stressed in a statement that the war in the region and the shedding of innocent blood must be stopped immediately.
The statement reads that the ongoing aggressions in the region, regardless of any justification or pretext, contradict ethics, religion, and law.
Al-Azhar noted: "We call upon the international community to take action to establish peace in the Middle East and prevent the expansion of the war's scope, adopting a decisive and immediate decision to extinguish the fire of war; a war whose price is the lives of innocent civilians."
The statement further emphasized: "We call upon all parties to exercise restraint, act with reason and wisdom in this difficult crisis, based on religion and humanity, and return to the dialogue and negotiation table without delay."
