AhlulBayt News Agency: Approximately 40,000 worshippers performed the Isha and Taraweeh prayers on Tuesday evening at the Aqsa Mosque compound in Occupied Jerusalem, despite restrictions imposed by Israeli authorities, on the eighth night of the holy month of Ramadan.
The Islamic Waqf Department in Jerusalem reported that tens of thousands of worshippers arrived at the Mosque from the early evening hours, filling its courtyards and covered prayer areas for the prayers.
Israeli forces were heavily deployed around the Old City and its gates, where they checked the IDs of several young men and restricted access for some individuals attempting to reach the holy site. Meanwhile, large numbers of families, elderly worshippers, and those maintaining a presence at the site were seen in the compound.
During Ramadan, Aqsa Mosque typically sees large numbers of worshippers from Occupied Jerusalem and Palestinian citizens of Israel (1948-occupied territories), while restrictions continue to limit access for Palestinians from the occupied West Bank.
