Iran envoy conveys condemnation of Islamabad terror attack

Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri-Moghaddam has met Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar in Islamabad to convey Tehran’s condemnation of a terrorist attack on a Shia mosque in the Pakistani capital.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri-Moghaddam has met Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar in Islamabad to convey Tehran’s condemnation of a terrorist attack on a Shia mosque in the Pakistani capital.

On Saturday, Ambassador Amiri-Moghaddam delivered a message from the Iranian government and people, expressing sympathy and solidarity with the victims’ families, as well as with the government and people of Pakistan following the attack.

A bomber killed at least 31 people and injured 169 during Friday prayers at a Shia Muslim mosque in Islamabad.

During the meeting, the two sides also exchanged views on the latest developments in Iran–Pakistan bilateral relations, with a particular focus on regional issues and shared security concerns.

Amiri-Moghaddam also briefed the Pakistani foreign minister on recent progress achieved through existing bilateral institutional mechanisms aimed at expanding cooperation in various fields.

Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar strongly condemned the terrorist attack and reaffirmed Pakistan’s firm resolve to combat terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. He underscored Islamabad’s commitment to ensuring security and stability and preventing such incidents.

The minister also stressed Pakistan’s determination to further strengthen engagement with Iran in key sectors of mutual interest, highlighting the importance of sustained dialogue and cooperation between the two neighboring countries.
