AhlulBayt News Agency: Iran President Masoud Pezeshkian paid a late-night visit to a hospital in Tehran on Sunday, meeting with medical personnel and civilians wounded during Israel’s recent military strikes against Iran.
According to IRNA, earlier that day, the president had joined massive rallies in central Tehran, where hundreds of thousands gathered to express solidarity with the Iranian Armed Forces.
The Israeli assault on June 13, described by Tehran as an unprovoked act of aggression, targeted residential areas in the capital and other regions. The strikes claimed the lives of numerous civilians and resulted in the assassination of senior Iranian military commanders. Entire neighborhoods were devastated.
In swift response, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei appointed new military leadership the same day, vowing that Israel would face severe consequences. Soon after, Iran launched a broad retaliatory operation, with its Armed Forces striking strategic targets across Israeli-occupied territories—including Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and Haifa—using a coordinated barrage of missiles and drones.
On Sunday, the United States entered the conflict by launching direct strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, signaling its full alignment with the Israeli offensive. Ayatollah Khamenei had previously warned that U.S. involvement would inflict “irreparable harm” on Washington.
President Pezeshkian’s hospital visit comes amid heightened tensions and a rapidly escalating conflict, with Tehran vowing to defend its sovereignty in the face of mounting aggression.
