AhlulBayt News Agency - The Iraqi army has asked the civilians in Fallujah to get ready to leave the city as they are preparing to attack.
Iraq’s state TV said on Sunday that the Iraqi troops are preparing a major offensive to drive the ISIS out of Fallujah, west of capital Baghdad, in a near future.
Army’s media unit urged the residents to either leave the city or raise white flags to mark their locations.
There will be secured corridors opened for those who will flee the city, and the routes will be announced soon.
Fallujah has fallen into the hands of IS in early 2014, and it is now under the siege of the Iraqi forces and the Shi’ite militias. Residents in the city are reportedly suffering from lack of food, medical supplies and public services under the rule of terrorists.
