AhlulBayt News Agency: A new mosque has been launched in the Capital of Ghana by the Qatar Charity.
The Al-Mustafa Mosque, located near Military Hospital No 37 in Accra, is equipped with modern facilities.
It serves as a prominent Islamic landmark and is home to a Quran Memorization and Studies Center, further strengthening its role as a beacon of faith in the capital.
The opening ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, including Chief of Naval Staff Vice-Admiral Issa Adam Yakubu, who served as the honorary guest, alongside Commander of Military Hospital No 37 Colonel Prosper Aibor, Director of Religious Affairs Brigadier-General Kumi Wood, and Representative of the One Ummah Organization in Ghana Tariq Marabi.
Brigadier-General Kumi Wood expressed his joy at the mosque’s opening, underlining its importance for both military personnel and civilians.
He emphasized that it was a great honor to participate in the inauguration of this religious facility, which provides a vital space for worship for the staff of Military Hospital No 37, defense personnel, civilian employees, families, and visiting public.
Vice-Admiral Yakubu highlighted the crucial role of the newly built mosque, emphasizing its significance as a spiritual sanctuary for military personnel and their families.
He described the mosque as a modern beacon of faith, symbolizing the diversity and unity within their community.
On the occasion, Marabi, representative of the One Ummah Organization in Ghana and spokesperson for the individual donors who contributed to the mosque’s redevelopment, expressed his gratitude to the military leadership for their partnership with Qatar Charity in the reconstruction of the mosque.
Marabi thanked everyone involved in making the project a success and emphasized the responsibility to give back to the Ghanaian community, which had provided them with opportunities for growth and development. He acknowledged Qatar Charity’s credibility and stellar reputation in Ghana, which motivated the donors to support such a meaningful initiative.
