Lebanese political parties criticize government's passive inaction with regards to Israeli aggression

Lebanese political factions condemned Israel's recent aggression in Beirut, accusing the U.S. of providing political cover. They emphasized the importance of the axis of resistance and national unity as Lebanon’s strongest defense against occupation and foreign threats. Calls for disarming resistance were rejected, highlighting its role in safeguarding sovereignty.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Lebanese political entities and figures have condemned Israel’s intensified military aggression, including the drone strike on Beirut's Dahieh neighborhood last Sunday, highlighting that the United States consistently provides political cover for these actions. They emphasized that the axis of resistance remains Lebanon’s strongest safeguard against foreign occupation and Israeli aggressions.

The joint statement described the drone strike as an intentional act of intimidation aimed at imposing Israeli hegemony over Lebanon. It labeled the attack a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement and UN Security Council Resolution 1701. The statement further condemned Zionism's disregard for international law and its intent to continue military campaigns against Lebanon.

Criticism extended to the international committee responsible for overseeing the ceasefire, accusing it of remaining silent amid the Israeli escalation. The United States, heading the committee, was blamed for shielding Israel politically, allowing it to perpetuate its aggressions.

Lebanese political factions also criticized the government’s passive stance and called for unity among the army, citizens, and resistance groups to confront ongoing Israeli aggression. They asserted that Lebanon’s national strength lies in solidarity, especially during periods of heightened hostility.

Rejecting calls for disarming the resistance, the statement stressed that the resistance’s weapons are essential for defending against foreign occupation and safeguarding Lebanon's sovereignty. It affirmed the nation’s right to resist and called for comprehensive support of the resistance axis from political and public sectors alike.
