In fact, it's a win-win deal for both customers and producers, because any product is sold with as much as 50 percent discount, funded by Iran's Vice Presidency for Science and Technology, with the aim of supporting domestic production.
Since the US withdrawal from the 2015 nuclear deal and re-imposition of sanctions on Iran in 2018, Tehran has doubled down on its efforts to wean its economy off the ups and downs of politics. While the Iranian government still pursues diplomatic channels with the West, it capitalizes more on domestic production as it believes this will shield the economy against foreign pressures.
Local brands here say the United States' measures have given domestic production a boost in Iran, as the government has made a strategic shift toward an economy that's driven by made-in-Iran products.
