AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Iran's President described the country’s current independence, sustainable security and freedom as indebted to the martyrs and war veterans, saying, “Our entire society is indebted to the martyrs, including the martyrs of the Revolution, the Sacred Defence and the Health Defenders, as well as their family”.
Speaking on Monday in a meeting with the families of martyrs and war veterans, President Hassan Rouhani said, “Serving these dear ones is the greatest honour for the government and all officials in the country”.
He described the martyrs and their respectful families as the spiritual assets of the country, saying, “The martyrs and veterans, and their families belong to all people in the country and not only a specific faction or party”.
“Those who are trying to take advantage of these dear ones to their own benefit have political motives and do not have a good wish,” he said.
Dr Rouhani also referred to the recent classifications of the “field” and “diplomacy” and added, “Both the field and diplomacy belong to the entire people and what has kept all of us from deviating from the right path is the unity between the field and diplomacy”.
He went on to state, “Any kind of attempt to create a rift, whether wanted or unwanted, is not related to the values of the revolution in any way”.
“Today, our country is facing both threats and opportunities,” said the President.
He continued referring to the recent negotiations in Vienna, adding, “Today, we are negotiating with world powers to defend our rights and the country’s strategic interests, and as nobody has the right to undermine the spirits of the soldiers in the war, nobody has the right to do such a thing to the soldiers in diplomacy”.
President Rouhani also said, “With the resistance of the Iranian nation against the conspiracy of the ill-wishers, cruel sanctions and the enemies economic war, today the entire world, including the United States as Iran’s boycotter, have come to the conclusion that the policy of maximum pressure has failed and they have no way other than returning to the law, fulfilling the commitments, lifting sanctions and fully implementing the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)”.
