Netanyahu while opening US embassy in Al-Quds: No friend in all world better than America / Video

"Today we open the United States embassy in Jerusalem [al-Quds], Israel," US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman said at the beginning of the inaugural ceremony on Monday, attended by a US delegation from Washington and officials of the Israeli regime.

(AhlulBayt News Agency) - While thousands of Palestinians hold the Great March of Return to commemorate the 70th Nakba, first daughter Ivanka Trump has just lead the opening ceremony of the US embassy in Al-Quds (Jerusalem).

US President Trump participated in the opening ceremony of the embassy with a registered word, after the latter announced his apology for attendance. The ceremony was led  by top US aides, Trump’s daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Kushner, along with Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin.

In a video address at the ceremony’s opening, Trump said the move to Jerusalem [Al Quds] has been a “long time coming,” after the US had “failed to acknowledge the obvious” for many years. Mr. Trump said he remained committed to “facilitating a lasting peace agreement,” and that he was “extending a hand of friendship to Israel, the Palestinians and to all of their neighbors.”

Israeli regime Prime Minister, Benyamin Netanyahu described this as a “historic day” in Israel, saying “There is no friend in all the world better than the United States of America, which today recognized Jerusalem [Al Quds] as the capital of” Israel.”

“This is a great day for peace,” Netanyahu said during a speech at the opening of the   embassy, stressing that the holy compound is now in Israeli hands” in reference to the Al-Aqsa mosque compound– AKA the proclaimed Temple Mount.

Trump recognized al-Quds (Jerusalem) as the “capital” of Israel in December last year, promising to relocate the US diplomatic mission from Tel Aviv to the city.

The decision sparked outrage among Palestinians, who deem al-Quds (Jerusalem) as the future capital of a Palestinian state.

Meanwhile, at least 59 Palestinians have been martyred at the Gaza borders and some 2700 injured in protests all over the West Bank and Gaza.
