Martyr Sadoughi as Depicted by Islamic Revolution Leader - Ayatollah Khamenei

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Imam Khamenei who worked along with this respectful martyr of the Assembly of Expert regarding the conflicts of the third Martyr of Adytum against liberals says: “Some of the clergies were so great and wise and they did not make a mistake about Bani Sadr even for a moment. The late Ayatollah Sedooghi was one of them.”         Martyr Ayatollah Sedooghi was one of the active persons who took part in the conflicts against Shah’s regime from the beginning of protests until February 11, 1979 along with Imam Khomeini. These conflicts were continued during the years after the revolution against Bani Sadr too in a way that Ayatollah Sedooghi would be considered as one of the critics against diversion parties.  Imam Khamenei that at that time was a colleague of the respectful martyr in the Assembly of Experts regarding the conflicts of this martyr of Adytum against liberals says: Martyr Sedooghi had chosen a special strategy to stand against the liberals from the beginning of revolution. The late Sedooghi who had acted exactly in the path of Imam Khomeini, as I said and pointed out about him, his political positions were accurate positions. For example during the time that Bani Sadr was an authority, some of the good and religious persons had faced with some mistakes and for a short or long time had a positive outlook about Bani Sadr. Some of the clergies never made a mistake in their outlooks about Bani Sadr. The late Ayatollah Sedooghi was one of these great men. Of course here I should mention the names of the late Ayatollah Dastgheib and the late Ayatollah Madani who were the martyrs of adytum acted the same as martyr Ayatollah Sedooghi; it means they did not make a mistake in their outlooks and thoughts regarding Bani Sadr. Regarding the relations of governmental authorities with foreign policies, I should say he was a person who was 100 % Anti-American man. He would always express his opposition against the United States of America’s positions. Some of the approvals were not based on the principles of our revolution, martyr Sedooghi would oppose against these approvals and he had an extraordinary insist on the legal standards and principles. During a seminar that had been held in Qom for the clergies, he expressed his words the same as the time that he was in the assembly of experts. His characteristics were the same in most of the places. Anyways he was a person who was fully committed to the accurate Islamic principles and accurate revolutionary principles. He was an active man in the revolutionary activities from the beginning of revolution until the end.  The Iranian supreme leader also pointed out to the presence of martyr Sedooghi in the battlefields of Iran-Iraq war and he said: One of the other characteristics of the late Sedooghi was his tirelessly characteristic. He was not a person who says: “Now that we have done our responsibility, we should stop the work.” When a surgery had been conducted on his eye, he left the hospital. Since I liked him so much, I asked him to stay in Tehran for a few days. I told him it is better for him not to go to Yazd province for now. I thought if he goes to Yazd, something bad might happen for him. So I told him, it is better for him to stay in Tehran and not to go to Yazd. But he did not accept this issue and he said: “I want to go to Yazd and go to the battlefields of Iran-Iraq war too.” I told him: “Since you want to go to the war, it is better to go to the western sides, because the weather of this place during spring and March is better than south of Iran.” He said: “Let me see, what I can do.” Suddenly I observed that he went to the southern battlefields. During the military operation “Beitol Moghadas” all the people saw him in television that he was a strong fighter. This characteristic of martyr Sedooghi was really significant for him./129
