AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): RUSSIA - The Crimean Republican Clinical Hospital named after N.A. Semashko in Simferopol set up a prayer room for Muslims. Taking into account the needs of believers, the authority of the hospital provided a room for prayer on the ground floor of the building.
The prayer room was created on the initiative of Muslim Religious Administration of the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, as well as Muslim medical workers of the hospital.
During a meeting Chief Physician of the Crimean Republican Clinical Hospital named after V.I. Semashko, Valentina Fursova, and assistant to the Mufti of Crimea, the chief imam of Simferopol, Muhammad Islamov agreed that prayer rooms are necessary in hospitals. According to Valentina Fursova, it is spiritual health that is largely determines the physical.
“I would like to point out that it is difficult for a patient to get recovered if he is not cured both physically and mentally. When we see a person’s spiritual and physical desire to live and recover, then this process passes much faster and better, and we get the result we are striving for”, said the chief physician.
During the meeting, Muhammad Islamov and Valentina Fursova discussed the work schedule of the prayer room, as well as the free access of believers for prayer in due time.
“On behalf of the Mufti of Crimea, Haji Emirali Ablaev, we discussed with the hospital authorities all the details of the work of the prayer room. Any hospital patient or healthcare professional may take the keys of the prayer room at the guard post. The room will always be open for five daily prayers”, said Muhammad Islamov.
According to Islamov, Crimean Muftiyat is to equip the prayer room according to the canons of Islam and take control over it in whole.
