Dr Hassan Rouhani and Recep Teyyip Erdogan had a phone conversation and stated that the stances of the two countries are in perfect harmony with each other.
Expressing happiness over the good interaction between Iran and Turkey in this regard, the President said: “Preserving territorial integrity and national unity of Iraq and security of the region are vital for the Islamic Republic of Iran and it is imperative to give a clear message to the disruptors of stability and security in the region”.
Dr Rouhani stressed: “Coordination and cooperation between the countries of the region will be very important in this regard and undoubtedly, the countries of the region will not allow the formation of new instability in the region”.
The Turkish president also referred to his country's vast efforts to cope with the instability in Iraq following the formation of the Turkish National Security Council and the extraordinary meeting of his country's parliament to make the necessary decisions in connection with the referendum.
He said: “At the meeting, the political, economic, and military actions and any move necessary were discussed and the parliament also authorised the government to carry out operations in the border in connection with the developments in Iraq and Syria”.
At the beginning of the conversation, the Turkish president also stressed that Turkey was ready to develop its relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran in all fields of mutual interest.

(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Presidents of Iran and Turkey had a telephone conversation and discussed the most important bilateral and regional issues, including the referendum in Kurdistan Region of Iraq and emphasised that the integrity and national unity of Iraq should by no means be undermined.
