AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The spokesman of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters announced, "Control of the Strait of Hormuz has returned to its previous state, and this strategic strait is under the strict management and control of the armed forces."
IRGC Lieutenant Colonel Ebrahim Zolfaghari said on Saturday, April 18, 2026, "Pursuant to previous agreements in the negotiations conducted in good faith, the Islamic Republic of Iran agreed to the managed passage of a limited number of oil tankers and commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz. However, unfortunately, the Americans, with their history of repeated breaches of faith, continue their highway robbery and piracy under the so-called blockade."
He added, "For this reason, control of the Strait of Hormuz has returned to its previous state, and this strategic strait is under the strict management and control of the armed forces."
The spokesman of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters emphasized, "As long as the United States does not end the complete freedom of passage of vessels originating from Iran to their destinations and from destinations to Iran, the status of the Strait of Hormuz will remain strictly controlled and in its previous state."
