Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei has expressed condolences over the martyrdom of Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani, promising revenge for his killing.
The Leader issued a message on Tuesday, the same day when Larijani and his son lost their lives in a US-Israeli airstrike. Commander of Basij Volunteer Force Major General Gholam Reza Soleimani was also killed.
Ayatollah Khamenei described Larijani as a well-aware, far-sighted, vigilant, and committed person who possessed experience in political, military, security, cultural, and managerial fields.
Nearly five decades of playing roles in different layers of the Islamic system turned Larijani into a distinguished figure, he noted, adding that his assassination shows his importance and the enemies’ anger toward him.
The Leader emphasized that shedding the blood of Iranian officials will make the Islamic system stronger, warning that “every drop of blood has a price that the criminal killers of these martyrs will soon have to pay.”
