Lebanese President condemns Israeli strikes on Sidon and Beqaa

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned the latest Israeli airstrikes on Sidon and the Beqaa Valley, calling them a direct violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty and international resolutions. He warned that the attacks undermine diplomatic efforts to stabilize the region.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned the “Israeli” airstrikes carried out overnight by land and sea, which targeted the Sidon region and several towns in the Beqaa Valley.

Aoun stated that the continuation of such attacks is a clear act of aggression aimed at undermining Lebanon’s diplomatic efforts with friendly and brotherly nations—particularly the United States—to stabilize the situation and stop “Israeli” hostilities.

He stressed that these strikes constitute a new violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty and a blatant breach of international obligations, showing disregard for the will of the international community and for UN resolutions, especially Resolution 1701 and its full implementation.

The president renewed his call on countries committed to regional stability to assume their responsibilities, halt the attacks immediately, and exert pressure to ensure respect for international resolutions in a way that protects Lebanon’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity while preventing further escalation.
