AhlulBayt News Agency: The second episode of the International Al-Ameed Quran Recitation Award, in its third edition, witnessed the participation of reciters from Iraq, Morocco, and Indonesia.
The Quranic Scientific Complex at the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine organizes the competition, with the participation of a select group of readers representing 20 Arab and Islamic countries.
The competition is overseen by an international judging panel, consisting of Sheikh Mohamed Basyouni from Egypt, Sheikh Dr. Basim Al-Abadi from Iraq, Dr. Mushtaq Al-Ali from Iraq, Sheikh Mohamed Asfour from Egypt, reciter Mr. Hassanein Al-Heloo from Iraq, and singer Mr. Karim Mousavi from Iran.
In the second round of the competition, the adult category featured the reader Zakaria Al-Zirak from Morocco, and the reader Ammar Salem Al-Halli from Iraq, while the youth category included the reader Muhammad Ziyan Fahrezi from Indonesia.
The episode featured the talented four-year-old child, Youssef Aziz, who has memorized parts of the Holy Quran, in addition to receiving encouragement and a set of tips from the judging panel. This step reflects the holy shrine's interest in supporting those who memorize the Holy Quran from various segments of society.
The Iraqi reader Ammar Salem Al-Hilli qualified in the second episode at the senior category level, while the junior category contestants are waiting for the qualifiers from the upcoming episodes.
The third edition of the competition for the adult and youth categories will be held with 28 episodes, up from 15 episodes in previous editions, due to the wide interest in the award and its reach to Quran readers in many countries around the world.
The competition is considered one of the contributions of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine in spreading Quranic culture, as it is the correct approach for the betterment of the individual and society. Readers from Arab, Asian, and African countries have flocked to participate in its third edition.
