AhlulBayt News Agency: A Palestinian infant was pronounced dead in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, as a result of prolonged exposure to low temperatures.
Gaza’s health ministry said that 12-day-old Haitham Abu Qas died from hypothermia, amid deteriorating humanitarian conditions resulting from the Israeli ban on the entry of critical shelter materials and relief aid to Gaza.
This brings the total number of cold weather deaths among children this season to 11 victims.
This new child fatality highlights the dangerous humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, particularly for displaced children and families living in fragile tents that are unfit to withstand the harsh cold and stormy weather.
Displaced families in Gaza are facing nowadays deadly risks from exposure to extreme cold temperatures as they find no adequate shelter materials, heating means, food, blankets, winter clothing, and even proper healthcare.
