AhlulBayt News Agency: The secretary-general of Lebanon’s resistance movement, Hezbollah, praised Iran’s resilience during the recent Israeli-American war, stating that the Islamic Republic emerged stronger from the conflict.
In a televised speech on Thursday evening marking the start of Muharram, Sheikh Naim Qassem said the main goal of Israel and the United States is to weaken any independent force that supports resistance and the liberation of Palestine.
He stated that Iran’s greatest offense, in the eyes of the US and the Zionist regime, is its unwavering support for Palestine, al-Quds, and the Palestinian people seeking to reclaim their occupied lands.
Sheikh Qassem described the Israeli aggression against Iran as part of a broader campaign of expansionism by the regime.
He emphasized that Iran has emerged stronger and has shown its ability to confront the US, Israel, and parts of Europe without compromising its values or principles.
According to him, Tehran has solidified its regional and international position through firm convictions and has not yielded any ground.
He added that Israel once again proved it cannot survive without US support, while Iran demonstrated its capacity to stand against global arrogance.
Sheikh Qassem said Iran successfully thwarted the aggressors’ three main goals: stopping uranium enrichment, dismantling its missile program, and forcing regime change.
He asserted that the Israeli-American aggression was based on falsehoods and baseless claims.
The Hezbollah leader reaffirmed full support for Iran’s sovereign stance in resisting US occupation and dominance.
He declared that surrendering to foreign pressure is not an option and that Hezbollah will continue its resistance to protect Lebanon’s dignity, no matter the cost.
On June 13, Israel launched an unprovoked war against Iran, targeting nuclear, military, and residential areas, resulting in the deaths of military commanders, scientists, and civilians.
In response, Iran’s armed forces launched 22 waves of missile strikes under Operation True Promise III, hitting strategic sites in Israeli-occupied territories.
