AhlulBayt News Agency: Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian expressed gratitude to Omani King Haitham bin Tarik for his country’s constructive mediation in the indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States.

During a meeting with Oman’s Sultan at his palace in Muscat on Tuesday, President Pezeshkian expressed hope that the Omani-mediated talks will yield positive results.

The president further noted that Iran and Oman possess capabilities that can be harnessed for the welfare and progress of both nations and other regional countries. He emphasized that the two countries can enhance cooperation in financial, scientific, educational, technological, and medical sectors. He encouraged traders and industrialists from both nations to propose programs for future generations and long-term economic collaboration.

Pezeshkian highlighted the necessity of facilitating economic and trade exchanges while expanding cooperation in defense and security areas.

Referring to Oman’s strategic position in Iran’s foreign policy, he stated that the Islamic Republic fully trusts Oman, which increases the responsibility of both sides to strengthen ties and pursue the implementation of agreements seriously.

Iran is prepared to do whatever it can to elevate the dignity and greatness of Muslim nations, Pezeshkian asserted, arguing that if these capabilities are utilized, no foreign power can dominate Islamic countries.

Furthermore, the president also commended Oman’s support for the oppressed people of Palestine, particularly the residents of the Gaza Strip.

The Sultan emphasized that Oman is seriously following up on the indirect talks between Iran and the US, viewing the Islamic Republic’s success as a victory for the region. He further appreciated the trust placed in Oman’s mediation by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, assuring that Muscat will not pursue any personal interests and will carefully consider and follow up on the Leader’s positions.
