Israeli criminal forces continue 114-day siege on Tulkarem governorate

Israeli forces have maintained a brutal siege on Tulkarem governorate for 114 days, forcibly displacing over 25,000 Palestinians. The military has destroyed homes and turned neighborhoods into military barracks.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Israeli occupation forces (IOF) have continued their siege of Tulkarem governorate and its two camps, Tulkarem and Nour Shams, marking the 114th consecutive day on Tuesday. The siege is accompanied by intensified military deployment and ground escalation.

At dawn on Tuesday, Israeli forces stormed the eastern suburb of Ektaba, spreading throughout its streets and alleys before arresting former prisoner Saad Othman Besais after raiding his home.

In Nablus Street and the nearby northern neighborhood, IOF surrounded several buildings and residential homes, forcibly evicting residents and converting the properties into military barracks. Some of these buildings have remained under occupation for more than two months.

Israeli forces continue to impose a tight siege on the Tulkarem and Nour Shams camps, preventing displaced citizens from returning to their homes. More than 4,200 families—totaling over 25,000 residents—have been forcibly displaced.

As the aggression escalates, Israeli forces have completely destroyed over 400 homes and partially damaged 2,573 others. They have also blocked camp entrances and alleyways with earthen barriers, effectively turning them into isolated areas with almost no remaining signs of life.

Local sources report that Israeli forces are sending military reinforcements around the clock to Tulkarem and its camps. Armored vehicles are patrolling streets and major neighborhoods, using horns provocatively, driving against traffic, and frequently setting up temporary checkpoints—especially in the city center, Nablus Street, and Shweikeh Roundabout.

The camps are witnessing an intense deployment of occupation forces, who have converted numerous houses into military posts and sniper positions, carrying out heavy gunfire and targeting anyone attempting to enter the camp.

In Nour Shams camp, Israeli forces have launched a campaign to demolish residential buildings in key neighborhoods. More than 20 buildings, including apartments, have been destroyed, while surrounding structures have suffered significant damage. This effort is part of Israel’s plan to demolish 106 buildings in Tulkarem and Nour Shams camps to clear roads and alter geographical features.

The aggression has led to the martyrdom of 13 Palestinian civilians, including a child and two women—one of whom was eight months pregnant. Dozens of injuries and arrests have also been reported, alongside widespread destruction affecting infrastructure, homes, shops, and vehicles, which have been demolished, burned, looted, or stolen.

As Israel continues its war of genocide in Gaza, the Israeli army and settlers have intensified attacks across the West Bank, including Jerusalem. Palestinian reports indicate that at least 969 people have been martyred, nearly 7,000 have been injured, and more than 17,000 have been arrested since the escalation began.
