AhlulBayt News Agency - An ISIS commander has been reported dead in the confrontations with the Iraqi army near Qayyara district, 45 kilometers south of Mosul.
The Iraqi troops carried out offensives against ISIS around Qayyara district, in which Abu Shuaib, a prominent IS commander in the area, was killed.
Abu Shuaib, whose real name is Hshim Ahmed Muhammed, was the first-in-command in the area for leading IS operations against the Iraqi forces.
Qader Hassan, a Peshmerga official from Makhmour frontline, confirmed that he was targeted while gathering with a number of terrorists who are also reported dead.
Qayyara district is described as a strategic location which increases momentum on the side of the Iraqi forces if they liberated it from the extremists.
The Iraqi army has previously recaptured the Qayyara airbase which is said to be utilized as a command center to lead the Mosul operation in the future.
