The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has strongly opposed the passage of the Prevention of Insults to National Honour (Amendment) Bill, 2026, by Parliament, saying that making alleged disrespect to Vande Mataram a punishable offence is an attack on religious freedom and the constitutional, secular and democratic ethos of India.
