Pakistani Sunni Ittehad Council head urges former army chief not to join Saudi-led military alliance

Chief of Sunni Ittehad Council Sahibzada Hamid Raza has urged the former army chief General Raheel Sharif (retired) to desist from joining the Saudi-led military alliance.

(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Chief of Sunni Ittehad Council Sahibzada Hamid Raza has urged the former army chief General Raheel Sharif (retired) to desist from joining the Saudi-led military alliance because that alliance was formed to pursue Saudi war on Yemen and aiding takfiris in Syria and Iraq to destabilize Muslim countries.

In an interview to Islam Times news website, Sahibzada Hamid Raza had confirmed information that former army Chief Raheel Sharif was offered the position by Saudis and he had accepted the same.

However, he said, if former military general of Pakistan joined the Saudi-led military alliance, he would lose his prestige and credibility which he earned by launching operation against the takfiri terrorists in Pakistan.

He said that even though he had credible information about Raheel Sharif’s new appointment, he desired and urged General Raheel Sharif (retired) not to do so for the sake of his own bright image, reputation and prestige.

He said that Saudi-led military alliance was not in the interest of Arabs or Muslims but that alliance was aimed at destabilizing Arab Muslim nations and their elected regimes.
