Members of Madison's Muslim community in Wisconsin, U.S.A spent their Saturday serving and hosting a spring dinner for those in need, WMTV news reported.
"It's very important that we support those who really need the help and that we are a part of the community," Youth Leader, Islam Aly, said.
He and his youth group played a large role in the event. They worked diligently, severing dinner to guests and stocking pantry shelves.
"We're here to help and we're here to lend a helping hand," Aly continued.
The young men joined in the efforts of the Islamic Center of East Madison to welcome all people from all walks of life.
"It was pretty comforting to have the interaction with people of different backgrounds," Center President, Gibril Jarjue, said.
"Just to show our appreciation of being in the community and giving back to the community," Jarjue continued.
The purpose of the dinner was to give a meal to someone who might otherwise go hungry.
"We care about each other and would like to help each other out," Adel Talaat confirmed.
According to event organizers, the dinner was put together out of love -- love for others, love for their community, and most of all love for one another.
