Hussein Qa’idi, head of Kurdistan Region’s office for Yezidi Abductees Affairs, said that after the Yezidi girl was freed on late Monday that she arrived in their office in Duhok today. When she saw her mother, she bursted into tears of joy and ran straight into her mother's arms.
The rescued girl is from the Yezidi village of Gir Uzeir who was abducted by the ISIS militants back in August 2014 when the terrorist group attacked the Yezidi region of Sinjar where they massacred hundreds of men and abducted thousands of women and children.
According to the latest updates, 3,011 Yezidis have so far been freed from ISIS with many more still being used as sex slaves by the terrorists.
