The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) strongly denounced the appalling terrorist crime committed last Tuesday in North Carolina by American extremist Craig Stephen Hicks who broke in the home of a Muslim family composed of three students and killed them with extreme brutality “for they are Muslims”.
The victims were identified as 23-year-old Deah Shaddy Barakat, his 21-year-old wife, Yusor Mohammad Abu-Salha, and her sister, 19-year-old Razan Mohammad Abu-Salha.
ISESCO stated that this awful terrorist act has been ignored by American media which in many instances adopted double standards in their treatment of crimes against non-Muslims.
In the same vein, ISESCO called on the US government to condemn this terrible terrorist crime and inflict harsh punishment on its perpetrator. It also called for countering trends of racism and hatred of Islam and Muslims in America and the West in general, through the laws that incriminate Islamophobia, provide safety for Muslims in the West and safeguard their rights as well as their religious and cultural specificities.
