AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Ayatollah Faqihi, a member of the Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom, following the insult of the U.S. president to religious sanctities and Pope Leo, wrote in a message:
In this message, addressing "the respected and honorable followers of the Prophet Jesus Christ (a.s.), justice-loving freedom-seekers, and opponents of oppression and arrogance," he said, "Wishing you days filled with justice and peace, and a world free from violence, child-killing, and aggression against the rights of others, I offer a few sincere words to you, brothers and sisters of faith who have placed your hearts in the love of Jesus Christ (a.s.) and uphold his path—the path of light and mercy."
He added, "Now that the world has been afflicted with a difficult test, with the spread of oppression and the distancing of some hearts from divine commands, God's servants—innocent children, women, and men—are being oppressed, your and our religious sanctities and the great prophet Jesus Christ (a.s.) are being insulted, and His Holiness the Pope, who has spoken nothing but the call for peace, condemnation of oppression and injustice against humanity—especially children and women—has been disrespected, we need more than ever, as followers of divine religions, to unite and stand together, rekindling the extinguished lamps of spirituality and saving humanity from impure and deceitful existences."
Ayatollah Faqihi continued, "Every heart that believes in the One God laments today the wounds inflicted upon humanity: injustice, disrespect, the killing of children, attacks on hospitals, and all that is incompatible with the spirit of the teachings of the prophets. Jesus Christ (a.s.), that great prophet, called everyone to gentleness of heart, righteousness, and the preservation of human dignity. He was a mirror of divine mercy, and his teachings taught humanity that oppression—even of a small animal—is not permissible, let alone of humans, who are the noblest of God's creation. I speak to you from a country whose people have been subjected to oppression, injustice, killing, and bloodshed for nearly fifty days, and whose innocent children and women have been drenched in blood by the bombers and fighter jets of the enemies of humanity. Unfortunately, during this imposed war, launched by the criminal leaders of the United States and the usurping Zionist regime against the innocent children, women, and men of the great and civilized country of Iran, in which thousands of people have been killed and hospitals and residential homes have been destroyed, the insult to the Prophet of God, Jesus Christ (a.s.), and the disrespect and insolence toward your peace-seeking leader, His Eminence Pope Leo XIV, have once again wounded the hearts of all followers of divine religions and freedom-seekers worldwide."
He added, "Insulting the peace-seeking and freedom-loving spiritual figures of the world can only be done by those who have records of corruption, violence, and murder. Judge for yourselves: which of the teachings of your great prophet, Jesus (a.s.), or our prophet, Muhammad (p.b.u.h), are compatible with these acts of violence, child-killing, and disrespect toward sanctities? Has the time not come for you and us to join hands, responding to the call of conscience and nature, answering the call of the divine prophets to establish justice and fight the oppression of tyrants, to rise up against those who insult the prophet of peace and mercy and your honorable and respected leader, His Holiness the Pope, and to beseech Almighty God to cleanse the world of the evil of such individuals?"
He concluded, "We beseech Almighty God to bring the hearts of humanity closer to compassion, to cleanse the world of the filth of violence and child-killing, to save the world from wicked and ill-natured people, and to return humanity to the path of the prophets of justice and truth. God's blessings be upon all divine prophets, especially Jesus Christ (a.s.) and the Seal of the Prophets, Muhammad (p.b.u.h), the messengers of peace, justice, and the fight against oppression and injustice."
