The Al‑Askari Holy Shrine in Samarra has significantly upgraded its water‑supply infrastructure to better serve the growing number of pilgrims. Two advanced RO filtration stations, sourced from international manufacturers, have been installed—one on Al‑Mahdi Street and another at the visitors’ garage—each producing 10,000 liters of purified water per hour. These additions raise the shrine’s total clean‑water output to nearly 100,000 liters per hour, ensuring a continuous and reliable supply during peak visitation periods. The expansion is further supported by a central cooling system on Al‑Mahdi Street, which pumps between 8,000 and 9,000 liters of chilled water per hour, providing cold drinking water to pilgrims throughout the day.
