AhlulBayt News Agency: Iranian police have arrested two individuals accused of working for Israel's Mossad intelligence agency in separate operations across Tehran and Alborz provinces, officials announced on Sunday.
According to Sa’eed Montazer al-Mahdi, spokesperson for Iran’s Police Command, two of the suspects were apprehended in Fashafuyeh, a district in Ray County, Tehran Province. Authorities seized over 200 kilograms of explosives, 23 drone units, several launchers, and additional equipment. A Nissan pickup truck used by the operatives was also impounded.
According to IRNA, the arrests come in the wake of recent Israeli airstrikes targeting Iranian territory, including civilian areas, in what Tehran has described as an unprovoked act of aggression launched overnight on June 13. Iranian officials allege that Mossad operatives have since attempted various sabotage operations, including using small explosive-laden drones.
Earlier on Sunday, two other alleged Mossad agents were detained in Savojbolagh County in Alborz Province, adjacent to Tehran. Authorities did not immediately disclose whether the arrests were coordinated.
In response to the Israeli attacks, Iran has launched retaliatory strikes targeting key cities such as Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and Haifa with ballistic missiles and drones. The operations have reportedly forced widespread closures and driven residents into underground shelters across the occupied territories.
