AhlulBayt News Agency: The events of the ninth Sacred Defense Fatwa Cultural Festival witnessed the opening of an exhibition of historical photos and documents in the area between the two holy shrines.
The festival is held under the slogan "The Religious Authority is the Fortress of the Islamic Nation," organized by the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs and the Al-Wafi Documentation and Studies Foundation at the Holy Shrine, and it lasts for two days.
The exhibition was inaugurated by the Secretary-General of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, in the presence of the members of its Board of Directors, several department heads, and officials, along with official, religious, and academic figures, and a gathering of martyrs' families.
The Deputy Head of Al-Wafi Foundation, Mr. Badr Al-Ali, said: "The exhibition includes a collection of photos and documents that document the heroism and sacrifices of the fighters who responded to the call of the supreme religious authority and participated in confronting the ISIS terrorist gangs."
He added that "the exhibition highlights the historical period that followed the issuance of the sacred defense fatwa, by showcasing archival materials and live testimonies that express the memory of victory and document pivotal moments in modern Iraqi history."
Al-Ali pointed out that "the organization of the exhibition came as part of diligent documentation efforts aimed at preserving this national and religious heritage and presenting it in a documented manner to future generations."
