AhlulBayt News Agency: The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has marked the 43rd anniversary of the liberation of Khorramshahr, commemorating it as a defining symbol of Iranian resilience against foreign aggression.
According to IRNA, in a statement published on Saturday by Sepah News, the IRGC described the 1982 victory over Iraq’s former Baath regime as a historic milestone. The operation, it emphasized, demonstrated the collective strength of the Iranian people and the unity of the armed forces in confronting external threats.
According to the statement, the liberation of Khorramshahr was more than just a military triumph—it embodied Iran’s identity and power. The IRGC stressed the ideological significance of the victory, framing it as a critical step toward the ultimate liberation of Palestine.
The organization also called on Iranian youth to take inspiration from Khorramshahr’s liberation, urging them to apply its lessons in modern hybrid warfare to counter present-day adversaries.
Concluding its statement, the IRGC issued a warning to Iran’s enemies, affirming that any act of aggression would be met with a swift and decisive response.
On May 24, 1982, Iranian armed forces successfully reclaimed Khorramshahr in a large-scale military operation known as Beit al-Moqaddas, during the eight-year war against Iraq’s toppled Baath regime.
