AhlulBayt News Agency: The Secretary General of International Foundation for Reverence of Religions has condemned the recent storming by Israeli settlers against holy al-Aqsa Mosque calling that part of efforts for changing the identity of holy Islamic site.
Mohammad Mahdi Momemniha, made the remarks in a statement following brutal attack against al-Aqsa and worshipers there followed by Talmudic rituals performed in the holy mosque.
He called the Israeli attack on al-Aqsa Mosque as a flagrant violation of the international laws and human rights.
He said,” International Foundation for Reverence of Religions slams the aggression as part of efforts for elimination of the Islamic and historical identity of the mosque” and added,” Such moves follow no objective but to provocative plots and sectarian clashes in the region.”
Momeniha emphasized that the Israeli regime and its supporters must stand responsible for the repercussions of such provocations.
He called the al-Aqsa Mosque as a shared heritage of humanity and an epitome of coexistence among different religions throughout history and emphasized,” Desecration of this holy site amounts to aggression against peace, security and human values.”
The International Foundation for Reverence of Religions called on all religious leaders, international organizations and justice-seeking states to unanimously condemn the aggression on and take effective steps in line with protecting the Palestinian holy sites and people.
