AhlulBayt News Agency: “We remain true to our pledge to Al-Quds” is the motto of the International Al-Quds Day rallies this year.
This was announced by Head of the Intifada and Quds Day Headquarters Brigadier General Ramezan Sharif, speaking at a meeting of the headquarters in Tehran on Saturday.
He expressed hope that magnificent rallies will be held on the International Quds Day later this month, demonstrating the Iranian people’s solidarity with the Palestinians.
The International Quds Day is among the legacies of the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khomeini, who is revered as a spiritual leader by Muslims across the world.
Back in 1979, shortly after leading an Islamic Revolution which toppled the US-backed Shah of Iran, Ayatollah Khomeini named the last Friday of the fasting month of Ramadan the Quds Day.
Elsewhere in his remarks, General Sharif said the Quds Day rallies this year are going to be held as the resistance front changed the equations through the Al-Aqsa Flood Operation.
The operation proved that sticking to resistance can bring about significant accomplishments, he stated.
The Al-Aqsa Flood Operation revived the spirit of the resistance, shattered the myth of the Israeli regime’s invincibility, foiled the plot of normalization of ties with the Zionist regime, showed the decline of the US’ power, and began the change in world order, he stated.
He also referred to the Israeli regime’s genocidal war on the Gaza Strip and said the world people saw the true colors of the regime and its supporters during this war.
The Gaza war also proved the value of the steadfastness and resistance of the people of the Gaza Strip and Palestine, he went on to say.
