The Israeli Knesset approved on Wednesday evening a law prohibiting the employment of anyone holding an academic degree from a Palestinian higher education institution in the Israeli education system, in legislation widely seen as targeting Palestinian academics inside Israel who studied at universities in the West Bank.
Israel’s far-right government has advanced a controversial draft law authorizing the death penalty for Palestinians accused of killing Israelis, a move that critics say reflects the regime’s growing extremism and defiance of international pressure.
The office of the Israeli occupation government coalition chairman, Ofir Katz, announced on Monday that the Knesset will vote next week on a bill to impose the death penalty on Palestinian prisoners.
Israeli Knesset Member, Ayman Odeh, commented on Monday on his removal from the Knesset chamber during US President Donald Trump’s speech, asserting that he was “ejected merely for raising the simplest demand: the recognition of a State of Palestine.”
