AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The book “Religion and the Modern World” by Abulfazl Sajedi was translated and published into Urdu by AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.
This book is on the understanding of the type of connection between religion and the modern world, and it begins with a quick look at explaining the concept of the necessity of religion and its relation to similar concepts. In the following, the approach of Islamic and Western intellectuals to this issue is reviewed, and its differences are revealed.
In the next chapter, the aspects of the need to refer to religion and the necessity of sending prophets from the point of view of Islamic intellectuals are explained in detail. This chapter discusses topics such as society’s need for law, the importance of knowing the right and moving towards it, the value of duty, and knowing the way to perfection. Then, the challenging plan of the sufficiency of reason and science in the present era and the claim of Dr. Soroush in the context of the praised independence of religion have been presented and evaluated.
In the next part of the book, the harmful effects of excessive reliance on science and reason in the West, the increasing trend towards religions, especially Islam in the West, and the reasons for the trend towards Islam are expressed in the words of the newly converted to Islam.
