Pres. Rouhani: Liberation of Khorramshahr, most beautiful day of Sacred Defence era

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Speaking on Monday evening at the meeting of the Supreme Council of Coordination of the Heads of Branches, President Hassan Rouhani referred to the commemoration of the anniversary of the liberation of Khorramshahr, and said, "Although the day of the fall of Khorramshahr was one of the bitterest days of the Imposed War, the liberation of Khorramshahr was the most beautiful day of the eight-year Sacred Defence era".

Referring to the US officials' acknowledgment of the failure of the policy of maximum pressure against the Iranian people, Dr Rouhani said, "The US government's admission to the failure of sanctions marked another victory in our country's history and due to the resistance of the Iranian people, Americans are left with no choice by to lift all sanctions that violate the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)".

The President stated, "This victory is the result of the patience and resistance of the Iranian people during the past three and a half years under the guidance of the Supreme Leader, and the government has done its best to manage the country in the most difficult periods".

Dr Rouhani said, "Despite the outbreak of coronavirus in the last 15 months, additional pressure was put on the country and somehow marked the most difficult period in a century".

Dr Rouhani further thanked the Supreme Leader for his proposal to establish the Supreme Council of Coordination of the Heads of Branches and added, "Since 2018, with the beginning of maximum pressure from the US government, the formation of this council has helped the government in some issues".

The President continued, "In addition to proposing the formation of this council, the Supreme Leader has also approved and announced its resolutions in the shortest possible time, and I thank the Supreme Leader and all members of the Council for this wisdom and assistance".
