(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Referring to the Hadith of Thaqalayn, former Mufti of Australia said the Muslim Ummah should apologize to the Holy Prophet (PBUH) for having betrayed his injunction.Speaking at a forum dubbed “Islamic Unity, Islamic Awakening, and Islamic Revolution of Iran”, Sheikh Taj El-Din Hamid Hilaly added that the Hadith of Thaqalayn has been narrated in Sunni sources.According to the Hadith, the Holy messenger of God is reported to have said, “I am leaving behind among you two precious things (Thaqalayn), as long as you adhere to them you will never go astray after me. The Book of Allah and my Itrah, my Ahl-ul-Bayt. They will never separate till they come unto me near the Pond, so look how you are going to treat them after me.”Sheikh Hilaly stressed that adhering to the Quran and Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) is the way to salvation and happiness.The former Mufti of Australia, who is originally from Egypt and is a graduate of Al-Azhar University, also referred to the devotion of the Egyptian people to Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) and said the love of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) can never be separated from the hearts of the people of Egypt.On the sidelines of the forum, he was asked about the future of Egypt’s revolution, to which he responded that God-willing the people of Egypt will achieve ultimate victory through their steadfast resolve. “With the recent parliamentary elections in which Islamist groups won 80 percent of the seats, the cronies of Hosni Mubarak will be removed.”The forum on “Islamic Unity, Islamic Awakening, and Islamic Revolution of Iran”, was held on Monday and Tuesday, February 6-7, at Imam Khomeini (RA) Seminary in Tehran.
