AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The Holy Quran's commitment to truth and guidance serves as an exemplary model for modern media practices, says an Islamic scholar.
Hojat-ol-Islam Ahmad Motahari Asl, Friday Prayer Leader of Tabriz, emphasized the Quran as the highest example of a written medium and a successful model for media.
He made the remarks on Saturday during the closing ceremony of the 8th Abu Dhar Media Festival in East Azarbaijan Province.
“The Quran is the highest written medium and a successful media model that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) presented to us as a divine miracle,” Motahari Asl stated.
Highlighting the Quran’s approach to truth and fairness, he said, “The Quran recounts the words of figures like Pharaoh, who opposed God, without distortion. Stories such as those of the people of Lot and Prophet Yusuf are narrated without omissions.”
Motahari Asl stressed that the Quran fearlessly conveys reality, whether pleasant or unpleasant, and offers fair responses even to its critics. “The Quran doesn’t shy away from presenting facts because it provides just answers to everyone, including opponents,” he said.
The cleric also noted the Quran’s ability to address diverse audiences effectively. “A successful media outlet, like the Quran, should cater to both the general public and specific groups,” he explained.
He described the Quran’s outward and inward beauty as unmatched. “Its external structure is so captivating that no matter how much we read, we do not feel weary or disheartened. Internally, it guides individuals, concealing their flaws and leading them to the right path. A successful media outlet must also guide people, rather than lead them astray,” he added.
Motahari Asl urged media practitioners to draw inspiration from the Quran and incorporate its principles into societal discourse. He criticized the reliance on Western ideas in academia, some of which, he argued, are misleading. “Despite the Quran’s rich content, we often rely on Western notions, some of which are even taught as unquestionable truths in our universities,” he said.
