German mosque receives threatening letter

A mosque in Germany received a threatening letter by a neo-Nazi group on Friday.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): A mosque in Germany received a threatening letter by a neo-Nazi group on Friday.

The Eyup Sultan Mosque, located in Bramsche, Lower Saxony, was the intended recipient of the letter.

The contents of the letter included the following message: "Continue like this. What we did to the Jews, we will do to you too. That day is not far away."

Additionally, the letter contained insults aimed at Islam.

Ahmet Irmak, the president of the mosque, which is affiliated with the Turkish-Islamic Union for Religious Affairs (DITIB), revealed that another mosque in the region had received a similar threatening letter earlier in the week.

Both letters were sealed with the label "NSU 2.0," which refers to a neo-Nazi group responsible for several murders.

Irmak highlighted that they had previously received a similar letter by mail approximately a year ago. He expressed his concerns about these threats and urged the authorities to take these incidents seriously.

The mosque has filed a criminal complaint with the police.

According to DTIB, last year in Germany, at least 35 mosques were targeted in attacks, predominantly driven by Islamophobia and right-wing extremism in the country.
