AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Tatarstan plans to slaughter up to 17,000 sacrificial animals during the Eid al-Adha celebrations, told Rustam Hazrat Valiullin, Chairman of the Central Audit Commission of Muslim Religious Administration of the Republic of Tatarstan at a press conference in Tatar-inform.
“According to our forecasts, formed after communication with the population, an increase in kurban (the number of sacrificial animals) is expected to reach 17,000 heads of small cattle and approximately 50-60 heads of cattle as well. We will see how it turns out after Eid al-Adha. But the rise is visible. The people were tired during these pandemic years and the month of Ramadan became very active. Our society has really changed for the better,” Rustam Hazrat Valiullin said.
Gabdulkhak Motygullin, Deputy Head of the Main Department of Veterinary Medicine of the Cabinet of Ministers of Tatarstan added that last year about 15,000 sacrificial animals were slaughtered in the republic, including 5,710 in Kazan. About 60 tons of biological waste was removed from the capital of Tatarstan.
“The law does not prohibit slaughtering in the courtyard, especially during the celebration of Eid al-Adha. A lot of sacrificial animals are slaughtered, but it is clear that no one will say the exact number,” he said.
This year, the beginning of Eid al-Adha falls on July 9th.
