Palestine has experienced various political positions by its leaders since 1947. One thing, nevertheless, never changed; Palestinians want all the occupiers out and any compromise involving their land is discredited in advance.
Diplomatic solutions, with no hoping for a significant breakthrough, only leaves the Palestinian movement distressed over what approach to national liberation would secure successes and not cause more harm than good.
As many have long noted, perhaps the single most powerful such tool that the Palestinians potentially have at their disposal is resistance to occupation on the ground. The occupation is a system of discipline and control over a subjugated people by a powerful foreign army. Worse, one of the main tasks of those occupying troops is to facilitate and protect the settlement project, which basically means taking land from its owners and illegally giving it to colonists.
Protests could target the settlements as a fertile ground for the discouragement of Israelis to live in the occupied lands. Disruptions and non-cooperation techniques could also be used as a way to start a long-process battle against the occupiers. But even more crucially, Palestinians would have to be firmly united and highly disciplined to maintain its strictly non-violent character to the people around the world.
The reactions on Israel’s side would, definitely, be violent. In the long run, the Palestinians will be the winner, as they have always been so far, because the use of violence only works when the intimidation originating from it pushes back the resistance.
Palestinians, however, has proved each new generation is stricter in its national code regarding the population. The Palestinians will be able to secure their victory and wipe off the newly-made Israel by resisting steadfastly and attracting the worldwide attention.
