Iranian FM urges peaceful settlement of Caucasus disputes

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian in a phone talk with his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov called for peaceful resolving of the Caucasus region disputes.

Bayramov congratulated Amirabdollahian for his gaining of confidence vote and beginning of service as the foreign minister of Iran.

Amirabdollahian voiced Iran’s readiness for improvement of comprehensive relations with Azerbaijan.

Iran is also ready for partnership in reconstruction of the liberated parts of your country,” added the Iranian foreign minister.

He meanwhile stressed the necessity of respecting the international borders and asked for resolving the disputes in the Caucasus region peacefully and through diplomatic channels.

Bayramov, too, in the phone talk emphasized the need for expansion of comprehensive bilateral cooperation and asked for evermore participation of Iran in reconstruction of the liberated zones of his country, as well as cooperation in the field of transiting goods.

He also presented a report on the recent developments in the Caucasus region.

The foreign ministers of the two countries meanwhile invited each other to visit the other country at their earliest possible opportunity and expressed hope to meet each other soon.
