Upon the martyrdom of Major-General Qassem Soleimani, a servant of Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine, Hoj. Ahmad Marvi the chief custodian of Astan Quds Razavi offered a condolence message to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution. The text of the message reads:
In the Name of God, the Compassionate the Merciful
Greetings to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei
I would like to offer my deepest condolences on the martyrdom of Major-General Haj Qassem Soleimani, the courageous and renowned commander of Islam and the servant of Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine who was the real epitome of resistance and jihad in the cause of God; also my condolences on martyrdom of Haj Abu Mahdi al-Mohandes, the brave leader of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces and those accompanying them, to the Imam of the Time Hazrat Mahdi (AS), to Your Excellency and to all supporters and sympathizers of the bright line of resistance and those serving the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS).
Major-General Soleimani’s unrivaled devotion and gallantry remind us of the courage and self-sacrifice of Muslim combatants in early years after Islam, such as the great commander Malik Ashtar. Our great man of jihad and resistance found his long-lasting wish of martyrdom granted and he joined his fellow combatants in the abode of the blessed on a night which is special for spiritual meeting with Imam Hussein (AS).
Losing Soleimani the Great is a big loss for the world of Islam and for humanity as well. Humanity owes security and freedom from the claws of Takfiri terrorism to Soleimani and his fellow combatants’ self-sacrifice. The scope and extent of Major-General Soleimani’s jihadi efforts and initiatives in the light of guidance by the powerful Leader of the Islamic Revolution brought to failure the evil plots of the US and Zionist regime during all these years. This neutralized the so-called Middle East Roadmap which meant to give birth to an American Mideast and Muslim nations remained integrated in warding off the evil shadow of US-Israeli-sponsored terrorism.
The US rapacious forces committed the crime in revenge of Daesh defeat to please Zionist child-killer hoodlums, but Your Excellency’s good tidings on taking severe revenge on these evil-hearted criminals will soothe the bereaved hearts of the believers and those fighting in the cause of God.
Upon the permission of God and with your wise guidance, the blood of these martyrs will further strengthen the blessed resistance movement and will speed up the countdown for annihilation of the arrogant powers.

Today Friday 3 January 2020, the sacred lands of Iraq which witnessed 14 centuries ago the ultimate stand for Justice and truth by the Leader of Martyrs, Imam Husayn (a.s) once again became drenched in the blood of an elite martyr of our time.
It is indeed with a great shock that AHLUL BAIT (A.S) FOUNDATION OF SOUTH AFRICA (AFOSA) received the news of the assassination and consequent martyrdom of General Qassem Soleimani, head of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard’s Quds Force.
General Soleimani served the Iranian people in particular in various positions in its army for more than 40 years and simultaneously served the Muslim Ummah and humanity at large beyond the Iranian borders during this time.
He became internationally famous when he initially provided strategic and logistical support to Syria during 2011 when it faced a civil war and played an instrumental role in combating the emergence of ISIS in both Syria and Iraq and ensuring its eventual extinction. His selfless sacrifice and bravery has resulted in the world witnessing a more stable Middle East today.
His murder, along with the assassination of Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, another great hero from the land of Karbala who resisted against occupation of his sacred country by ISIS terrorists as well as American aggression, is the most brazen indication to date that America seeks a direct war with the axis of Resistance in the region. AFOSA unreservedly condemns this act of aggression by the US government.
The immediate response of the Prime Minister of New Zealand in indicating that it will not be part of such a war is noteworthy and we call on the freedom loving nations of the world to influence their governments to take a similar stance.
AFOSA extends its sincere condolences to Imam Mahdi (a.s), Our Leader Grand Ayatullah Khamenei, all Maraji (Grand Spiritual authorities), the family of the martyrs and the Iranian & Iraqi nations and all freedom loving nations of the world.
So when they marched out for [encounter with] Goliath and his troops, they said, ‘Our Lord, pour patience upon us, make our feet steady, and assist us against the faithless lot.’
(Holy Quran Surah Baqara Verse 250)
وَسَيَعْلَمُ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا أَيَّ مُنقَلَبٍ يَنقَلِبُونَ
"And soon the unjust will know to what final place of turning (hell) they shall turn back"

Huge crowds of Iraqis join General Soleimani’s funeral procession
Hundreds of thousands of Iraqis chanting "Death to America" have joined the funeral procession for Iranian commander Qassem Soleimani and Iraqi anti-terror forces chief Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis in Baghdad.
The US assassination of the two commanders at Baghdad airport in the early hours of Friday has triggered a wave of rage among Iranians and Iraqis, and forged an unprecedented unity with vociferous calls for revenge.
Both Generals Soleimani and Muhandis were popular figureheads in helping squelch an ominous rise of Daesh which once came as close as 30 km to Baghdad, while the US withdrew troops from Iraq and looked on.
Images of the Iranian commander tagging along with Iraqi fighters at frontlines as the ferocious battle against Daesh terrorists went on are endearingly etched in the minds of many Iraqis.
Their massive turnout in Saturday's funeral is both a testimony to Soleimani's popularity among many Iraqis and a message to the US which made its stay in the Arab country more unwelcome with the extrajudicial killing, observers say.
In all, 10 people -- five Iraqis and five Iranians -- were killed in Friday morning's US strike on their motorcade just outside Baghdad airport as Soleimani's flight arrived from Syria, leading to speculations that Israeli intelligence played a role.
On Saturday, Iraq's Prime Minister Adel Abdel Mahdi joined Muhandis associate Hadi al-Ameri, senior cleric Ammar al-Hakim and other important figures in a large crowd accompanying the coffins.
Ameri, who has been named as the successor to Muhandis, and many other Iraqi leaders have called on all factions in Iraq to unite and expel foreign troops.
"We call on all national forces to unify their stance in order to expel foreign troops whose presence has become pointless in Iraq," Ameri told national television on Friday.
The cortege set off around Kadhimiya, a pilgrimage district of Baghdad, before heading to the Green Zone government and diplomatic district where a state funeral was to be held attended by top dignitaries.
The convoy snaked its way though a sea of black-clad mourners, some of whom carried portraits of Iran's Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
The bodies of the Iranians will then be flown on Saturday evening to Iran, which has declared three days of mourning for Gen. Soleimani. His funeral is to be held on Tuesday in his hometown of Kerman in central Iran.
Funeral processions would also be held on Saturday in the holy cities of Karbala and Najaf.

Had we been presented with such an opportunity, what we would have done is weighed very carefully and very deliberately the risks versus the potential rewards,” Rice said in an interview with MSNBC on Saturday.
“We would have assessed all of the ways in which this could enhance our security and degrade our security and I think judging from what I know and from what we are likely to see, I think that there is real reason to believe that in all likelihood the benefits will be outweighed by the risks,” she added.

Sayyed Nasrallah: Martyrdom of Lt. Gen Soleimani marks new phase in Middle East
Lebanese Hezbollah Secretary-General Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah said on Sunday that the day of the martyrdom of Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani marks a new phase in the Middle East history.
He made the remarks on Sunday evening at the Sayyed al-Shohada Assembly in the southern district of Beirut on the magnificent ceremony and commemoration of the former commander of the Quds Force, along with thousands of his supporters as well as religious leaders, political figures, media and parliamentarians and ministers of the interim Lebanese government.
Condemning the US terrorist act, Nasrallah noted that Haj Qasem Soleimani achieved his greatest goal of being a martyr because his martyrdom was a dream of his youth days.
Hezbollah secretary-general said that January 2, 2020, the day of the martyrdom of Gen. Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandes, commander of Iraqi Popular Forces (al-Hashed al-Sha’abi), is a unique date not only for Iran and Iraq but for the entire Middle East region and today's glorious ceremony was held in the southern district of Beirut to commemorate the two great regional and global commanders.
Haj Qasem Soleimani spent many nights in Syria crying and telling me that his heartbeats to meet God, he added. "I extend my condolences to his wife and his children saying: Your father achieved his wish and love and joined his martyr friends.
Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah also extended his condolences to the Abu Mahdi family, noting that Abu Mehdi al-Muhandis met with me 2 months ago and said that the ISIS war is over and my friends are martyred and pray for me for martyrdom.
Hezbollah's secretary-general made the remark that the operation was ordered by US President Donald Trump and he confessed to this blatant crime. Therefore, there is no doubt about the terrorist and criminal nature of these operations.
According to Hezbollah Secretary-General, the reason for the US blatant and terrorist operations in Baghdad is the failure of its previous attempts to assassinate it secretly. Not long ago in Kerman, eastern Iran, security forces arrested a group whose plot was to assassinate Soleimani. However, Trump was forced to order his assassination in public.
Nasrallah noted that after three years of Trump’s election as president, he and his rivals know that there is nothing but defeat in his foreign and Middle East policy record.
He said Trump's big goal was to overthrow the Islamic Republic of Iran or at least bring it to its knees and a new agreement on various issues. So it imposed heavy sanctions on the country and relied on economic pressure. However, Trump cannot now say that he has defeated Iran, nor can he say that his pressures have worked.
Hezbollah's secretary-general highlighted that the US program in Syria also failed and the last act of Trump's betrayal was over the Kurds and Kurdish regions and announcement of withdrawal of troops from these areas. Part of his remaining force is to steal oil from those areas.
Trump's attempt to provoke the Lebanese against each other has also failed, he said. During their trips to Beirut, US officials threatened Lebanese officials that they would sanction if it did not dismantle the resistance centers in Bekaa, and Israel would bomb Lebanon.
