AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Speaking in a cabinet session on Wednesday, President Hassan Rouhani congratulated the birthday of Jesus Christ to all Christians and Muslims in Iran and around the world, saying, "Jesus Christ is one of the greatest messengers of God and his birthday is a celebration for Muslims and Christians”.
He added, "His Holiness Jesus Christ is the messenger of light, friendship, mercy, and kindness among all people and the Holy Quran reminds Muslims that we have very important common points with the People of the Book”.
“In Quran, the Almighty advises us to be gentle and kind towards the People of the Book in our talking and discussions, except those who are tyrannical,” he said.
Stating that the economic problems are not limited to the Iranian nation, Dr Rouhani added, "In the quadripartite summit of Iran, Malaysia, Turkey and Qatar, we saw that other countries are facing problems in their interactions with the United States”.
He continued, "The leader of one of the countries participating in the summit said that they had bought arms from the US and they are overcharging them for the maintenance and parts that they need today”.
Regarding banking and financial issues, all countries agreed that we need to find a solution to get rid of the dollar, he said, adding, "Cryptocurrencies, exchanging with national currencies and gold were the solutions that were proposed at the summit”.
“The issues that the Iranian nation are facing today, is being experienced by others as well,” said the President.
Dr Rouhani also said, "Nobody doubts that the Islamic Republic of Iran has fully lived up to its commitments and it has taken steps within the framework of regional and global peace, stability and security; but it is the other side that has violated its commitments”.
Stating that the Americans were attempting to say it everywhere that they are ready for negotiation and it is Iran that is avoiding the negotiation table, he said, "This was a conspiracy that we were able to foil both in the United Nations and our interactions with other countries, and it was also reiterated in the recent visit to japan that we have no problem with negotiation with anybody”.
The President also said, "If today the 5+1 countries have the determination to live up to all their commitments and want to correct their past mistakes, we are ready for negotiation”.
“In the recent visit to Japan, we announced it clearly and we received suggestions from the Japanese side and us as well that we will follow,” he said.
Dr Rouhani added, "Today, there is no doubt that Iran’s current dignity is due to the Iranian nation’s resistance and steadfastness”.
He went on to state, "The Enemies have no choice but to surrender to the Iranian nation’s will, and we are feeling this with all our heart”.
The President continued, "Today, we have found new methods for doing business and trade, and we have taken new steps in our commercial relations with countries like India, Malaysia, Turkey, China and Russia”.
Dr Rouhani also emphasised the government’s seriousness in making hybrid-fuel vehicles, saying, "If the public transportation system improves, both air pollution will decrease and people will not need to use their private vehicles”.
At the end of his speech, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran invited people to take part in the elections.
