AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Seven Bahraini minors had their detention extended by a further 60 days on Thursday by order of the public prosecutor.
Bahraini rights campaigner Ebtisam al-Saegh is reporting that the seven are “school students” and that requests for their release had been denied.
The seven were detained in late August and have already spent two months behind bars.
There is no word yet on what exactly the youths are being accused of.
Many of the Bahrainis taken into police custody are routinely held without proper cause and subjected to torture and other forms of ill-treatment.
