AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The Iran's president emphasised the failure of the American conspiracy to exert maximum pressure on the great Iranian nation, saying, "Today, all figures and people's spirit show that the era of maximum pressure has come to an end."
Speaking at a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Dr Hassan Rouhani said, "All statistics show that the path the nation, the system, the leader, the armed forces and all factions have chosen is right and must continue with unity and integrity".
The president added, "The great Iranian people have been able to defeat maximum sanctions and economic terrorism with maximum resistance, vitality, hard work and dedication and there is no doubt that Iran's current power is greater than ever".
Pointing out that friends and enemies confess to the Iranian people's power, patience and resistance, Dr Rouhani said, "The world is in awe of this Iranian nation's resistance; 83 million Iranians have joined hands and resisted the US and Zionism, and today there is the best security, conditions and spirits in the country".
The president added, "Of course, economically speaking, people have problems that we all have to work together to alleviate them".
Stating that today all figures show that people are able to solve problems, he said, "The Central Bank has announced that production of stock industries that make up half of the country's industry has seen positive growth of 1.2% in September, which is a very important issue".
The president continued, "The central bank was able to allocate $19 billion in imported goods and commodities in the first six months of the year, out of which $8.2 billion was for basic goods, which is positive and significant amount".
Dr Rouhani said, "Today, we are in a situation where our warehouses in ports are full and these activities in our ports and customs are the biggest sign of US failure in this cruel and unfair pressure on the Iranian people".
"This year, we paid the farmers a guaranteed purchase of wheat earlier than previous years," he added.
Dr Rouhani added, "In the construction sector, we were able to invest 29 trillion tomans in the first six months of this year, which indicates the power of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the victory of this nation in the path it has taken".
The president said, "According to statistics provided by the Ministry of Energy, by the end of this year, a major water or electricity project will be opened every week across the country, totaling 227 projects worth more than 33 trillion tomans".
"By the end of the year, in addition to the dams that were opened in the first six months of this year, 10 more dams will be put into operation in the country, as well as 26,000 hectares of irrigation and drainage networks in the country," Dr Rouhani said.
Dr Rouhani said, "Based on figures, people's participation has increased and the unemployment rate has fallen 1.8 percent compared to last year".
The president added, "Last summer, the number of the employed in the country was 23 million and 900 thousand, but this year, it has increased to 24 million and 750 thousand".
The president touched upon developments in the region, saying, "Unfortunately, flames are still found all around the region, sometimes in Yemen and sometimes near the Mediterranean and the Turkish and Syrian borders".
Regarding the Turkish government's concerns about its southern borders and that they have the right to address those concerns, he said, "We believe that the right way should be chosen in this direction".
Dr Rouhani added, "At the summit of Iran, Russia and Turkey, we have made it clear that the solution to establishment of security in the northern Syrian and southern Turkish borders is possible only with the presence of the Syrian army and we must provide all grounds for the Syrian military presence in these areas".
"The Americans must leave the region, and the Kurds should cooperate with the Syrian Army, which is actually their own country," he said.
The President reiterated, "The path chosen today and the agreements that are happening behind the scenes will not benefit the region, and we call on our friend and brother Turkey and its government to pay more attention and patience in such matters".
Dr Rouhani emphasised, "We believe that the route chosen is not a good one for the region because today we are in a position that we need peace in the region and the Syrian refugees must return to their country faster".
"The main issue today is not the north of Syria and the eastern Euphrates, but the first problem in the Idlib region, where all the terrorists are gathered, and we hope that the regional countries help in this regard and the Turkish government should pay more attention so that we do not face any new problems in the region," he continued.
Referring to the need to be vigilant about holding the upcoming parliamentary elections in the coming months, which is a major political event, Dr Rouhani said, "All those responsible for holding and monitoring the elections should work to increase people's political vitality".
