(ABNA24.com) Protesters have been met with tear gas fired by police force as they demonstrated against the government in Hong Kong, following violent episodes over the previous weekend.
Despite a police ban, the protest took place in Yuen Long area in response to last Sunday's train attack. On July 21, dozens of masked men attacked commuters and anti-government protesters inside the Hong Kong Mass Transit Railway (MTR) station of Yuen Long. Forty-five people were reportedly injured.
Since the wave of protests began in June, with hundreds of thousands marching on a weekly basis, the extradition bill has been suspended indefinitely but protesters are now demanding its full withdrawal and the resignation of Hong Kong's Chief Executive Carrie Lam.
