AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): On the threshold of Zilqa’dah 23, falling on July 26, observed as the special pilgrimage day of the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS), a number of Maraji’ Taqlid (sources of religious imitation) took part in a ceremony for dust cleaning at the holy shrine with a number of distinguished scholars and senior servants in attendance.
Present in this ceremony were Ayatollahs Javadi Amoli, Sobhani, Makarem Shirazi, Alavi Gorgani, Alamolhoda, and Hoj. Marvi, the chief custodian of Astan Quds Razavi, the body in charge of Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine.
In an atmosphere of spirituality, the holy shrine was dusted and perfumed with pure Persian rosewater.
The ceremony was enriched by the life-giving recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and eulogies in praise of the Infallible Household of the Prophet (pbuh), before the religious figures stepped into the tomb. They changed the fabric cover over the tombstone, dusted the tomb all over and washed every corner with rose water before prayers.
Dust cleaning is a long-lasting tradition at the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS). It is observed several times a year in the presence of Muslim scholars as well as senior government and provincial officials.
