AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Stating that Iran has endured the toughest sanctions during the past 14 months, Iran's President said, “Today, 105 trillion rials worth of projects will be opened in North Khorasan Province”.
Addressing the immense gathering of people on Sunday in Shirvan, North Khorasan Province, President Hassan Rouhani said, “Today, there is no way except unity, solidarity and helping each other. Although the Iranian nation are having many difficulties, they have high spirits against the enemies”.
He also referred to the sanctions and said, “These sanctions would cripple any other nation, but our brave, resistant nation have withstood these sanctions in the past 14 months”.
“The Americans have failed in every political, economic and legal step they have taken against the Iranian nation. They have failed to advance their goals in different international institutions, including the United Nations and the Board of Governors, in which all countries, except the US and a few countries, supported Iran,” he said.
The President continued, “In the case of the United States’ complaint to the International Court of Justice (ICJ), the court voted against the US,” saying that the US has also failed to advance its goals in our region, especially in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and recently in Yemen.
He also went on to say, “Some saying that the government is inefficient in serving people is undoubtedly unjust”.
“But despite all these problems and hardships, the Iranian nation are together, standing up to the enemies and will overcome all these issues,” said Rouhani.
The President also said, “In the past 14 months that the pressure of sanctions has increased, our foreign debts have decreased. We had around $12.4 billion of foreign debt, but today, this amount has decreased to $9.5 billion”.
On employment rate in the country, he said, “Unemployment rate has decreased 10.8 per cent, but employment still is our main issue”.
“Those who claim that they have been able to stop the Iranian nation’s progress, and those in the White House who claim that they have defeated the economy of Iran, are all wrong,” Dr Hassan Rouhani continued.
